Styles and Methods of Evangelism Current Resources for Evangelism

Course Description

This class will be taught by Dr. Steve Dunn and various pastors and evangelism practioners around the Conference. Friday’s session begins at 8.30 am and concludes at 4.30 pm. Saturday’s session begins at 8.30 and concludes at 3.30 pm. We will explore the following topics:

Friday

The Evangelistic Chain and Conversion (Steve Dunn)

From Foyer to Kitchen – Northpoint Strategy (Dennis Hall)

Six Biblical Styles of Evangelism (Steve Oberman)

Intro to Becoming a Contagious Christian (Steve Oberman)

Examples and Understandings of the Six Styles (Steve Oberman)

Outflow and Servant Evangelism (Dennis Hall)

Saturday

Ten Commandments Evangelism – A Direct Approach (Larry Hall)

Just Walk Across the Room (Roger Fry)

Story and Evangelism to Postmoderns (Dunn)

Telling God’s Story and Telling Your Story (Dunn)

Teaching People to Tell Their Faith Stories (Dunn)

Student Evangelism (Dunn)

If time permits:

Bridgebuilders (Ministering to People With No Christian Roots)

Video Tools for Evangelism

Using the Web For Evangelism

Worship Evangelism

Note: Each of these resources will be presented in introductory sessions highlighting the key skills involved and how to use the resource in your local church setting. In most cases students will be given an opportunity to practice this method at a basic level.

Optional Friday Night

An optional session is offered from 6.30-8.00 pm on Friday for any interested students. It is a round table discussion on "Raising the Evangelistic Temperature in a Local Church."
