Ravi Zacharias on Apologetics

I thought that since our next School of Evangelism session is on apologetics, it would be fitting for us to begin to think about the subject.

I don't know how familiar you are with author and apologist Ravi Zacharias, but you ought to be.  His new book Beyond Opinion begins with a discussion on the idea of apologetics itself.

There are still many Christians (apparently) who are opposed to the idea of apologetics.  I'd be interested to know how people in your churches respond when you talk about apologetics.  I'm always surprised to see people's blank faces when I talk about atheism - as if they can't fathom someone not believing in God.  What a rude awakening some Christians are in for!

We can debate if you'd like, but I'll stand up and say that apologetics is not only nice, but essential.

Here's what Ravi says:

"The question of being an apologist is not so mcuh whether you use an apologetic in answering someone's question, but whether the apologetic you already use is a good one."

Tommorrow we'll take a look at something that Ravi Zacharias really brought to light for me and I hope that it will help you too.
